Some where in the Banks of the Great River Nile ... On a baking afternoon. In the hot sand.. There was a sudden movement, a not so strong crocodile hatches from the shell.. Weak n alone.. All her brother and sister were quick and had made there way to the river base with her mother long ago, left alone to struggle it the heat. She managed to get to the life giving water, surrounded by fear and No sight of her mother it dragged it self to a corner of the bank and rested a while. She saw many big croc which were huge her instinct Strongly told two things, any thing bigger in size can be dangerous and anything small and moving can be gulped. Fighting for its survival, she spent some really hard years. With years passing and in her menu list many made there place and the size of dishes went growing and growing the zebras were no match for her ferocious jaws And soon she found herself that she was a magnificent female of the banks of the Nile.. And was on her way to give eggs, she was on the same bank, where once she was struggling for life and death, with no one to support. Time has changed she made a cozy nest for her eggs and laid them..
And guarded it night and day from predators she was going to be a mother after few months, the time arrived she can hear the first 'umph, umph' :D sound call from the hatchlings call for the mother call for the motherhood, she spontaneously reaches and carries her babies in her mighty jaws, the same one which can crush any giants. On the same jaws she gently holds the babies in group’s n groups and takes them to a short roller coaster ride from nest to the river soon with in 2-3 trips all the babies are successfully in the river she makes sure no one is left, as she was left once. keeping a eye on the babies @ safe distance she soaks herself on the heat of the baking sun.. 2day the baking sun and sand.. are nothing to her once which were about to kill her once
She was idle for a while..., until some thing distracted a movement in the sand.. That small tiny teeny thing which was moving freezes.
It was a unhealthy baby turtle its instincts says that this larger object can gulp it and it should act still to escape And what with her instant any thing moving and smaller in size can be in menu.. but ….but What is this at the touch of motherhood.. Her instinct which she followed all her life changed.. Any tiny thing which is crawling can be her baby. She was on the same sand once helpless, the turtle may have been left alone by her siblings who might have made there journey at night. the croc mother gently picks that tiny turtle in her jaws which would have crushed several of it kind and places it on the same safe zone where her babies lie, unlike croc turtle have to make it independent from the moment they are hatched.. But here He got a mighty mother.. With time the baby crocs grow and take the separate path, but the turtle stayed with mother croc, who adopted him, when he was in need..
PS : I Wrote this Story as retribution to a story " The Cocoon and the Butterfly " http://www.geocities.com/alaura1942/CocoonButterfly.html
We are not butterflies which can manage on it own, not the phoenix which can fly soon after hatched , not some antilop which will start running for life as soon as it hits the earth or not like the turtle which swims in the deep sea alone.
We are dependent from birth till death , there are many more like us, just cause some manage on there own, does not means we need not help, need not adopt them but can help them :)
